In short
No account, no sign-up, no cookies, no ads and no tracking scripts. The board does not ask for your name, email or exact location.
Kept on your device
The board saves three small settings in your browser's local storage so it remembers them next time: the place you picked under Your area, whether you use the calm or Analyst view, and whether you have seen the first-visit hint. They stay on your device, are never sent to us as a profile, and you can clear them at any time by clearing this site's data in your browser.
The place you pick is also added to the page address (?place=…) so a shared link opens the same place.
Place lookups
When you look up a place, the text you typed (a city or a ZIP code) is sent from our server to public services to find it and fetch its alerts: Zippopotam.us or Open-Meteo to find the place, then sources such as the National Weather Service, FEMA, GDACS, USGS, Google News and the U.S. State Department. They see the place, not who asked. Lookups are cached for about ten minutes and are not tied to you.
Server logs
The site is hosted on Vercel. Like any web host, Vercel keeps short-lived request logs (such as IP address, browser type, the page asked for and the time) for security and to keep the site running. We use them only to fix problems and stop abuse, and we do not sell or share them. See Vercel's privacy policy.
Alerts and outside links
Push alerts are sent by the operator to their own household through ntfy or Pushover. Visitors cannot sign up for them on this site, so no visitor contact details are collected.
Links to news, agencies, markets and (in future) affiliate shops lead to other sites with their own privacy rules. A shop may use a cookie to credit an affiliate link; see the disclaimer.
Children, changes and contact
The board is not aimed at children and collects nothing from them. If this page changes, the date below changes too. Questions go to Wasatch Crest Holdings LLC, hello@regdatalab.com.
